openEmedia has announced that they are about to issue the first of their newsletters – OpenPower. Two issues of OpenPower will be sent out before PCIM.
The openEmedia newsletters will be edited by Oscar Watkins, and the aim is to create portals for some of the hottest topics in the industry – embedded, medical, lead-free, automotive, wireless and security portals are all promised in addition to the Power newsletter. Advertising rates are modest, with sponsorship of a single newsletter costing around 500 Euro. Although this does look worryingly similar the (unsucessful) model of VerticalNet, the cost-efficient setup at openEmedia might just work.
