CMP has acquired Portelligent (www.teardown.com), the company that does the product teardowns often seen in EE Times. The company conducts analyses of a wide range of electronics products such as cellular phones, digital cameras and
digital home and mobile computing devices, allowing engineers to understand the design decisions and trade-offs made by other development teams, as well as explaining the costs and business model for different products. At Napier we (well the techhies amongst us!) love the teardowns, and learn a lot from them, and we believe that this is a great acquisition that will allow CMP to cover more of these fascinating projects.
