There has been lots of discussion about the proposal by the EU to require consumers to opt-in before cookies are placed on their computers. Clearly if explicit permission was required by every site, it would have a huge impact on how we use the Internet in Europe. Good news comes from Osbourne Clark, who report that the British government is leading the push to “Allow consent to the use of cookies to be given via browser settings”.
