OK, I admit that I went with fairly low expectations, but I was genuinely pleased to see Embedded Live deliver a decent number of visitors on the first day of the exhibition. The second day (last day of the event) was definitely much quieter, but I’d be amazed if the attendance on the first day didn’t exceed the total for both days in 2009. The fact that the downward trend in attendance has been reversed is great news.
OK, the show isn’t huge. Compared to Embedded World the size and visitor numbers are tiny. But you can’t compare events in Germany and the UK: it’s really hard to persuade engineers in the UK to go to shows.
It would be nice to see some official figures for attendance this year (and for last year so we can compare), but the atmosphere was so completely different to last year that I know the numbers will reflect a significant increase. If you couldn’t make it, why not check out my video from the show:
