I was sent this interesting spreadsheet from Jure at Svet elektronike. He has created a new metric for websites by comparing the number of page views delivered per month to the population of the country served.
I’d never suggest that this was an accurate measure of the performance of a site – factors such as traffic from other countries would skew the result dramatically. The percentage of the population involved in engineering and the number of competitive websites in that country would also affect the result. However I liked the idea – it’s certainly fun!
Jure took data from Huson Media’s website (so only media properties represented by Huson are included) and Wikipedia for the population data. Congratulations to Digitimes for coming top of the table, and to Svet electronike for beating the other European sites!
