Really sad to hear that Colin Holland has lost his battle with cancer. He was one of the nicest and most helpful editors: when I started presenting to editors, I remember Colin not only asking great questions, but also explaining how I could make the presentation more interesting (and very nicely telling me when I was likely to be boring journalists!). He’ll be missed for his humour, his expertise and his unshakable belief in Charlton Athletic. Whether you knew Colin or not, I’d suggest reading UBM Electronics’ great obituary that lists just some of Colin’s many achievements.

I had the great pleasure of working with Colin the past 13 years. He was not only one of the best editors and journalists I’ve known he was also one of the nicest people I have ever known. It is a well worn phrase to say he will be missed but it is certainly true and Embedded World will not be the same without him.
