The organisers of Embedded World have reported a small increase in the visitors to 22,500 and an increase in exhibitors to 900. It’s good to see that the attendance has grown: most people I spoke with felt that the show felt bigger, but that the aisles were a little quiet on the first and last day. There’s no doubt, however, that the show was a genuine success and will continue to be one of those events that embedded companies simply can’t miss. I’m looking forward to next year!

Hi Mike,
last year I was complaining about WiFi, which I think was better this year. This year I had a problem with a Press card. I had a meeting at 9:00 at the booth of an exhibitor and a guard did not let me go into the fairground because it was not 9:00 yet. After some negotiations she eventually let me go, but obviously guards had a very specific orders: no one – except exhibitor may enter. Maybe this (logical) rule could be a bit modified so that also members of the press could enter prior to 9:00. After all I never had such a problem on electronica in Munich.
All in all Embedded World is a great show – I’s say “condensed” electronica, all the right people are there and the show is not too large.
