Site icon Napier – B2B PR and Marketing Agency

Desktop site? Don’t expect to see it in Google’s mobile SERPs!

6% of the visits to Napier’s website in the last year were from mobile devices

Google is getting tough on websites that don’t offer a mobile version and a good experience. THey’ve announced a change in mobile search rankings that means if you don’t follow their mobile recommendations or if you make common configuration mistakes such as broken redirects or flagging smartphone-only errors, then your site will not rank highly in mobile search results.

Whilst access from PCs remains the predominant interface to B2B websites, mobile devices are a significant percentage of the traffic and B2B marketers can’t ignore mobile any longer. This move by Google is definitely going to force companies to have a strategy for supporting mobile access to websites and providing a good mobile experience.
