Power Systems Design North America (PSDNA) will increase its print frequency from six issues a year to 10, matching the sister title Power Systems Design Europe (PSDE). Whilst the publishers haven’t said this, I suspect the editorial content of the two titles will get even closer, ultimately resulting in a single product that effectively allows advertisers to effectively geo-target in print.
It’s interesting that this follows on from the recent announcement that Bodo’s Power will be printed in the USA. There definitely appears to be a print renaissance in the USA: even Newsweek, which loudly announced the end of the print magazine around a year ago, will re-introduce a print edition in January 2014. Whilst I think that real-world economics will mean that the return to print is limited, it’s nice to see that magazines aren’t completely dead!
