Normally I wouldn’t talk about website redesigns, but I’m going to make an exception as David Williams, publisher of Automotive Electronics, contacted me whilst we were busy working on a new Napier website. The new site has clearly been designed to be functional: delivering lots of news stories and technical articles in a clear and organised format. I like it! Although there are more beautiful sites, I think this one works for readers as it is so easy to navigate, and feels so full of content. The site also restricts adverts to just two slots per page. Whilst this may be seen as walking away from potential advertising revenue, the layout really makes the adverts stand out, and I hope this means that Automotive Electronics will be more able to maintain the CPM they need to make a reasonable profit.
Overall a really good job – designed with the audience in mind. I just hope we can do as well with our new Napier site!
